Why Precipio
Deep SAP expertise. Genuinely independent advice.
The Precipio team brings extensive experience across enterprise SAP environments, systems integration, and complex programme delivery. We combine that practical knowledge with a genuinely independent position, so the advice we give is shaped entirely by what is right for your organisation. Not by vendor relationships, implementation revenue, or the path of least resistance.
What we see in the market
Organisations approaching significant SAP decisions, whether that is a major transformation, a licence negotiation, a procurement exercise, or a governance challenge, are rarely short of advice. What they are short of is advice that is genuinely independent.
Systems integrators make recommendations that align with their own capabilities and resourcing, prioritising what they can deliver profitably over what is best for the customer. Vendors apply commercial pressure that is designed to narrow the customer's options rather than expand them. Advisory firms with partnership agreements face structural conflicts that make it difficult to challenge either.
The consequences show up in programmes that were scoped for one environment but funded for another, in licence agreements with clauses that were not understood until a compliance situation made them visible, in procurement processes that produced a partner rather than the right partner, and in governance structures that reported to the delivery team rather than to the customer's executive.
These are not exceptional outcomes. They are common ones, and they share a root cause: the organisation did not have an independent voice in the room at the point when decisions were made.
What independence means for us
Precipio has no commercial relationships with SAP, holds no reseller agreements, and receives no fees or incentives from SAP or its affiliated partners. When we advise on your licensing position, your migration path, or your commercial arrangements, that advice is not influenced by any interest other than yours.
Where we recommend third-party solutions through our partner programme, we are transparent about those relationships. Our partners are selected because they deliver genuinely better outcomes for clients in specific situations, and we disclose the commercial nature of those arrangements openly. Our advisory position on your SAP landscape is never influenced by those partnerships.
Our only measure of success is the outcome our clients achieve.
What that means in practice
We tell you what we find
Including when the risk is lower than expected, when a course of action is not warranted, or when the right answer is to do nothing. Our value is in accuracy. Creating work we cannot justify is not something we do.
We prepare you for the conversations that matter
Whether that is an SAP audit, a licence negotiation, a major procurement, or a board presentation on your transformation business case, we give you the preparation and context to engage from a position of knowledge rather than uncertainty.
We stay across the detail so you do not have to
SAP's commercial models are evolving rapidly. Consumption-based pricing, AI capabilities, and shifting maintenance timelines all carry implications that are not always visible at the point of signing. We track these so our clients are not caught out by changes they did not see coming.
We work the way you need us to
Some clients need a focused piece of work over a few weeks. Others want an ongoing advisory relationship that evolves as their SAP landscape changes. There is no minimum scope and no standard methodology applied regardless of context. We tailor every engagement to the organisation we are working with.
The team
Precipio was founded by people with deep, hands-on experience across enterprise SAP environments. That experience is what makes our advice practical rather than theoretical.
Mark Cichowski
Mark brings extensive experience in stakeholder management, programme delivery, and commercial negotiations across complex SAP environments. His background spans both client-side and advisory roles, giving him a grounded understanding of what good outcomes actually look like in practice.
Carmen Cichowski
Carmen has worked across enterprise SAP environments in major organisations including Rio Tinto and Accenture, developing deep expertise in SAP processes, systems integration, and large-scale programme delivery. She brings a practical, commercially aware perspective to every engagement.
Max Funch
Max brings a distinctive combination of legal training and SAP commercial expertise that shapes how Precipio approaches contract review, audit response, and negotiation preparation. With an LLB from Griffith and experience advising some of the largest enterprises in ANZ on SAP licensing and renewals, he applies a legal lens with a pragmatic commercial overlay to translate complex contract terms into the implications procurement and finance teams can act on.
Our approach
We measure our success by the outcomes our clients achieve, not by the hours we bill or the scope we can expand. That means being direct about what we can and cannot help with, honest about what we find, and clear about when the right advice is to proceed differently than originally planned.
It also means building relationships that last beyond the immediate engagement. Many of our clients return to us as their SAP landscape evolves, because the value of an independent adviser compounds over time. The context we build, the commercial history we understand, and the trust we develop make each subsequent engagement more effective than the last.
See if we are the right fit
A 30-minute conversation is usually enough to know whether we can help. There is no obligation and no sales pitch.
